Makkah Marathon is a community running event in the Holy Sites of Makkah. It combines sport with the history and culture of the city. The 2026 edition takes place on Friday 18 December and Saturday 19 December.Clearly, this is not a typical city race. The route passes through places that millions of people know and love. The event slogan is "Steps you can hear... an experience you live."About the EventThe organizers describe Makkah as an open-air museum. Every corner has a story. It welcomes runners, families, children and people of determination.Where Is the Marathon Held?The marathon takes place within the sacred sites of Makkah. It starts from the Muzdalifah Pedestrian Walkway.
