The AlKhudair family established Al Yamamah in May 2001 as a single college. This was the family’s second major contribution to Saudi education, having founded the first private schools in Riyadh back in 1957.
Al Yamamah began as Al Yamamah College in 2001, admitting its first male students in 2004 and female students in 2006. The royal decree granted it a university status in December 2008.
Today, Al Yamamah University (YU) stands as one of Saudi Arabia’s most recognized private universities. It is fully authorized by the Ministry of Education and serves students from across the Kingdom and beyond.
Al Yamamah University delivers education through three main colleges. Each college offers both undergraduate and graduate-level programs.
The College of Business is the largest college at YU. It offers the following undergraduate programs:
At the postgraduate level, students can pursue:
The College of Engineering provides bachelor’s degrees in Software Engineering, Network Engineering and Security, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, and Interior Architecture.
At the postgraduate level, the college offers a Master in Cyber Security (MCS).
The College of Law offers a Bachelor of Law degree. Moreover, it provides a Master of Business Law (LLM) for students seeking advanced legal expertise.
The Deanship supports students across all colleges. It covers Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Humanities. These courses form the academic foundation every student needs.
Al Yamamah University partnered with the US-based INTERLINK Language Centers to provide an English language preparation program. Saudi INTERLINK Language Centers have been delivering this Orientation English program since 2004.
The program prepares students in English language skills and academic competencies before they begin their degree studies.
Al Yamamah University delivers its programs in English and partners with prestigious institutions such as INTERLINK International Institutes (USA).
This makes YU one of the few private universities in Saudi Arabia with a full English-medium curriculum. Accordingly, graduates are prepared to compete in both local and global job markets.
Most importantly, Al Yamamah University holds some of the most prestigious academic accreditations available.
Al Yamamah University holds institutional accreditation from the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (NCAAA), the official quality assurance authority in Saudi Arabia.
